Before the kid gets a chance to respond Duke comes up and starts talking to us. "Duke! How's it going? You look like you had to deal with some god awful sign-ups." I tease.

I stay in the back of the room during the whole ordeal, keeping silent, observing.
I expected things to turn volatile, so it would be safest not to get involved. Hyun was already pressured quite a bit. Maybe we should've waited, but then he might have tried to run away again.

I expected to get more insight, so I'd rather focus on absorbing it all. And true enough, a lot of things to take in, a lot of info to digest. I probably have to go it over a few times to understand it all. Part of me feels like there's a lot of it that isn't meant for me to know, too personal, too private. I have too figure out what I do with this knowledge.

I did not expect Alli to completely drop her façade, but I wasn't surprised either. As the conversation moved on, she struggled to keep it up as Hyun practically attacked her. I was surprised when she left, however. Hyun stopped attacking and actually shared, what caused her to blow up like that?

"You don't say. And we haven't even started yet." I sigh as I stand up and go to the door. "I'd better go after her. Take care, Lily." I go out on the hallway and run up next to Elegy and say "I don't think we need to rush, and besides, she needs a bit of time to cool off." I slow down to a normal walking speed.

When we get outside I pull up the hood on my rain poncho. I spot her immediately, her pink hair a stark contrast to the green grass, and go over to her. "Hey. How are you holding up? You shouldn't be sitting in the mud, you know."

I can hear Sefi, which is sort of what I expected to happen, but I also see Elegy, which I didn't really expect. "Well, I heard it's good for your skin or somethin'. Some people put it on their face, ya know." It's refreshing to hear my usual tone return. I was never fond of how I sounded, that's one of the reasons I changed the way I talked. I hop up off the ground, now why did Elegy come. Oh, that. "Ah, yeah I know." I give Elegy a wink as I take the friend rose. Although, that's not what I meant when I said it. "I was just frustrated."

I turn to Sefi. "Sorry you had to see that. I'm sure it wasn't the most pleasant event to witness." I smile at her. "I hope it hasn't put a damper on your mood." Although I imagine she wants to ask questions. What questions I'm curious, but I'm also afraid to answer. I'm more stable than I used to be, but... "So...um, something on your mind?"

Well, she's back to her usual self. That's good... I think. "Well, I wasn't exactly in high spirits to begin with. But there are a few things. First of all, I don't know whether to be shocked or offended that you don't feel loved." I try to sound teasing, but part of me is unsure. "Second, and this might sound weird, but just so you know, it's good to know a bit about how you really feel, deep inside. Can't say it was pleasant to see, but it's good to know. Third," I cross my arms and look her in the eyes, "you avoided my question: How are you holding up?"

Uh oh, guess I'm in trouble. "Ah, it's more complicated than that." I lower my voice and turn my head away before quickly saying, "I was talking about a specific kind of love." I return my gaze to Sefi and speak normally again. "Besides, who would love human trash like me." I say with a wink. Although, it always stings when I make a joke about something that I actually believe.

"And you know, it's not like you really ask about my past..." I kind of hope you don't either, but after that I suppose I might owe her some answers. "And how am I holding what up?" I throw the joke out there, but she doesn't look particularly pleased with that answer.

Specific, huh? Sounds like something we gotta do something about at some point. Although her "joke" makes me narrow my eyes even more at her. "Don't joke about that, don't even say that! Why do you keep saying stuff like that? You are not trash, you are not an idiot!" What can I do to make you see that?

I sigh. "Look. I don't know what to ask, or how, when you clearly don't want to tell. I want to know, of course, but I don't want it to hurt you or our relationship." I straighten my back a bit and stare in disbelief at her horrible joke. Did you want to answer me anyway? "All right then. Tell me, how do you feel after that little talk? What made you storm off like that? What did you learn being here, but stopped yourself from telling?"

I see. I understand. Ultimately the answer is, "...scared." I say through my smile and probably blank stare. "I'm afraid to get close to people. I don't want people to ask, because I'm afraid of what they might think." My smile slowly fades as I talk. "For ten years..." I bite my lip momentarily. "I was treated like garbage, after my parents died. The truth is a stranger took pity on me, and that's why I was able to attend the school at all. The orphanage didn't want me to go, but they were more or less forced into it." I started avoiding eye contact with her.

"So, I make those jokes, because that's what I was for half my life." There's a lot more that I should tell, but this is probably enough for now. "I'm still afraid of that place, I'm afraid to leave this school. All of my good memories exist only here." This was the first place where I was treated like something other than trash after all.

I can feel my heart break as she speaks. Why are people so cruel? I don't know what to say, so I pull her into a fierce hug. Why can't they just be kind? I can feel tears filling my eyes and my breath getting heavy. How many do I have to see break? I try to hold her as close as I can, trying to make her feel safe, as futile as it may be.

(Back from vacation, yay.)

Screw it, I've been here too much time, I'm getting tired of this, I'll just improvise or something.
I grab the papers I just wrote ideas on and classify them on the filing cabinets. Might start moving to the cafeteria, it's getting late, grab something to eat or drink.
I can see two women lying down hugging each other on my way there... I recognise one of them, she's the one that interrupted me and Lillith when I interrupted her. They seem... busy, I'm not going in there. I try to eavesdrop a little as I pass but, maybe I shouldn't do it. Forget it, I'm going.
There's some people in the cafeteria already, but nothing too impressive, I go to the counter.
"Got anything to drink, like, red wine?" I'm surprised to his response: We don't serve alcohol...
"You've got to be kidding me. Ugh, I'll be back in a bit."
I run outside and take my phone out and start looking for some good wine shops in the city.

"Your time to shine again bud! And this is serious, absolutely no jokes, follow my orders."
I won't let them get rid of my alcohol! I let Cyanide out and quickly jump on him. Great! I found a store that looks good enough!
I speed through the city trying to find it.

Though slowly, I finish my plate of food and down my water quickly. On my way out I spy a table that has some sweet snacks and grab myself a couple of them. I shove them into my backpack and pick up a water on the way out, adjusting the egg inside my pack as I went. Sure Dragonair was leaving, but hey, she'd be up and about as soon as she came back I thought to myself. I chomp on some snacks on the way there, because hey, why not eat some Gummy Ursarings to cheer me up?

"Woah." I arrive at the field and my eyes begin to shine. The field is amazing, and everything seemed so.. well-kept, so perfect, at least to me. I set down my backpack and ran around the field once, it felt amazing. I sit down on a nearby bench and gaze upwards. Kobukan seemed like a nice place, so new and big, heck it even had some pretty cute girls I think to myself with a smile. But my home was at Tekigan, where all my friends were, where I earned all my medals, where I grew up, filled with people whom I grew up with. My plan for getting back would be great, I thought to myself, even though it would harm the battle team's record. It was pretty mean, but I guess.. my train of thought is removed when I spot an equipment room.

A school staff member passes by and I ask if I can use the equipment, which, a bit to my surprise, he says is open to any student any time of the day. He walks away and I shrug, and go into the shed and look for the equipment. I look for a mat to fall on in case I fall by accident, and to my surprise it is quite comfortable. In fact, it is REALLY comfortable, and I lay down on it, I look to my surroundings and see that I am relatively alone, I doubt anyone would come in here, and even if they did, this was realllly far back... I smile as put my backpack down and close my eyes, I'd wake up later, when it gets dark enough that nobody will be able to see me in the field I thought to myself as I drifted off to sleep.
