I feel like flinching as I watch. "This seems horrible...I do not understand the appeal..." I cannot bring myself to look away from the screen. I wonder if that makes me a terrible person.

I land with a thud after clearing the bar, not too high but good for practising my technique. I stand back up and see Trajan coming towards me along with that girl I battled earlier. "Hi Trajan," I reply to his greeting "Of course I wouldn't miss this, I've been looking forward to it all day although not many people seem to have turned up unfortunately" Jogging is probably a more sociable exercise right now so I hop off the mat, leaving the apparatus up for later. "So what events do you do? It'd be cool if we did the same but don't expect any mercy if we compete"

"Yeah the scene is pretty awful," I say, "but it sets up the plot for literally the entire rest of the movie."

As I say that the movie leaps forward a year into the future, and shows a crow landing on a headstone with the name Eric Draven. The crow pecks at if a couple times before flying up to a nearby tree and crowing, as the ground in front of the stone begins to pulsate slightly, revealing wood splinters from the coffin and an arm breaching the surface, as the man from the opening scene drags himself out of the ground, confused and disoriented of where he is or how he got there.

Trajan

I finish my warmup and we start jogging, not many people seem to join us, they're just waiting.
Events eh? "I focus mainly on sprinting, usually 100m, but I tried 200m too, sometimes. I also want to train in long jumps, I never tried it, but it looks fun. What about you? Apart from the obvious high jumps, is there anything else you want to get into?" Figured we should make some small talk,
but I'm starting to get tired already, it's getting hard to breathe... Damnit, not now of all times,
I'll hold on for now, but I don't want to exhaust myself neither.

Len

I tilt my head, not quite understanding the plot yet. I start knitting gold waves into the purple scarf. I look at the scarf periodically to make sure that I did not screw up, but my attention is mostly held by the movie. I wish to know what happens next.

Sheena

Len seems to watching very intently as the man wanders the streets, confused and unsure of where he is, yet heading somewhere familiar in his mind. Along the way he hears sirens and other loud noises going off in the city around him.

He stops when he reaches a condemned building, and climbs up the fire escape to enter the building. As if by some force of feeling or memory he continues to make his way to the top of the building, until he reaches a room that is, or at least at one time was, blocked off by police tape. He pushes open the door, revealing the room from the opening scene, or at least what is left of it after a year has passed.

As he walks around the room picking up and examining objects strewn about, memories of his past begin to flood his mind. From when he moved into this location with his fiance, to days spent cooking dinners with her. A white cat claws at him out of fear, and when it does he has another flash of memories, showing this cat was once their pet, but time has left it alone, scared, and confused. As he looks around more and more memories and emotions fill his mind. From when he proposed to her, to decorating for Halloween, to the warmth and love of her embrace.

Then, what happened that day flashes through his mind as well. The hurt and pain he felt as he was wounded, how useless he felt when he couldn't stop these men from hurting the one he loved, and finally, his own untimely death. Riddled with the hurt and agony of that day he lets out a violent scream of rage, before in a moment the crow from the graveyard lands in the broken window he himself was thrown out of. With a fire in his eyes he begins to dress himself in clothes that haven't been eaten by worms for the last year before leaving.

"Just let me know if you feel lost," I say to Len "it can be pretty confusing to try to understand at times."

I nod inattentively towards Miss Sheena's remark. I continue to watch, enraptured, while I slowly knit away at the scarf. "This is, weird?" I eventually remark slowly.

Once I told James about where to send the gifts and what I asked for, I quickly change and head toward the running field. I can already see Trajan and Chloe running. I'd love to talk with them, but when I focus on running, I always forgot about anything around me...
But first, some warmups. I don't want to get injured.
...
...
And done! I place myself on the running field... And focus on running. Forget about the cold. Forget about your surroundings. Run. Focus. Go.

I look at the window. Looks like the snow is drawing closer. It's a little bit too soon, but I think in less than an hour it will already start...

I laugh a bit when Len calls the movie weird. "Well it isn't normal." I respond "but, it is actually based off of a comic book. The writer of the comic actually originally made it both in memory of his fiance and as a way of coping with his loss of her when she was killed by a drunk driver. So in a way, it is kind of sweet if you ask me."

I wake up from my nap to find five missed calls and two texts from Page. “Wya?” both texts ask me. Doesn’t matter anymore, I guess. I stretch out a bit before slipping my shoes back on and heading towards the Student Center to grab a bite to eat.

As I ask for a tuna melt sandwich, I notice the door to the kitchen left slightly ajar and hear the crashing of pans from within. Tired but curious, I call out drowsily. “Hello…? Everything okay in there?”
