Fuck, fuck, FUCK! Seems Miss Lillith’s Flygon caught wind of the bud, and it’s actively patrolling the classroom. I remember some poffins I brought with me to feed Gibson later, but he’s a porker and will probably pick on my lunch when I’m not looking anyway. I owe you, bud, I think to myself. Bringing my voice down to a whisper, I call the Flygon over. “Hey buddy, c’mere. This what you looking for?” The poffin’s covered by a neatly wrapped napkin. I unveil it as if it were a valuable stone and offer it.

Glover

Oh shit, this isn’t happening right now. Miss Lillith’s Flygon’s coming Page’s way. Definitely smelled the stuff. I look at Page in horror as he calmly offers a poffin to it. Oh no. Well. This is it, this is how my life at the academy ends, and I’ve barely lasted three days. I look away, not wanting to know what happens next. I play out a couple of scenarios in my head, thinking anything good can come of it, but they all end up bad. This is it, we’re so fucking dead. Well, at least I'll die feeling relatively good still.

I wake up and discover I managed to fall asleep at my desk, again. I look around for a bit and find my phone to check the time. Looks like I have quite a few more hours until I need to teach. I plug my phone in and lay my head back down on my desk. The bed is too far.

Matthew

"Present." I say with a slight wave when Hyun calls my name. I decide to ignore the chicken hearted girl next to me for now. I made my point not to mess with my friends so no need to push it any further. If she does anything more I'll make sure she is both the coward and the corpse in her little analogy.

Sheena

"Present." I say and raise my hand as my name is called. Bleh two hours in a single class room is going to be exhausting. Looking around I notice a guy in the back row a few seats over trying way to hard to not be noticed. I never understood if people who try that hard ever realized that it makes them stand out a little more or not. Either way this could be a fun way to pass the time, so I decide to shoot him a wink and friendly smile.

Amber looks over at Page and tilts her head, upon seeing the bribe she smiles and gently shakes her head before giving him a couple light pats on his head. While she was doing that she looks over at Glover, giving a little sigh. She heads back to Lillith

"I see." I stand up and start taking role call. After I finish I add. "Please ensure that you are in uniform from now on, I understand that the first day can be hectic, so I'll let it go for today." I slowly scan the classroom stopping for a period on Page and then Glover. "Please remember that illicit activities on school grounds may be grounds for corrective actions." It was obviously directed at the pair, but it was intentionally vague as well.

"Present." I responded when my name is called. I notice that Sheena is making an attempt to catch someone's attention. I decide that I should not intrude however. As I jot down notes I eventually get sidetracked and begin doodling.



Blake

"Present." I grumble as my name is called. Mornings suck. Seriously why do they exist, I don't think anyone like them. I yawn unapologetically. No point in fighting it, but I'll try not to sleep. It's not like anything interesting happens in homeroom. Eh, I didn't notice that kid before. I can't tell if it's a girlish looking guy or a girl in the male uniform. Hmm



Gale

"P-present." I barely say it loud enough to hear. But it seemed to be enough as he continued on. I bite my bottom lip as I can slowly feel people peering at me out of curiosity.

Amber smiles gives me a couple of light pats on the head, and heads back to Miss Lillith’s desk. Phew, that was close. I’m relieved, but when she states that ‘illicit activities’ are possible grounds for corrective actions, I can’t help but feel a bit nervous. She obviously suspected something off with Glover and I when I saw her take a pause to look at us every now again, so I know now to take some extra precautions before I get the idea to toke up again. I might have lost today, but I’m gonna fight for my right to party. I try to play it off by adjusting my tie. Glover’s trying to play teacher’s pet by digging in his bag for a notebook. Oh well, at least that’s over with. I look towards the front of the class, ready to pay attention. Miss Lillith's starting to take roll, and when my name comes up, I raise my hand and give a "Here", signaling that I'm, well, here.

I’m genuinely shocked at Amber’s reaction to Page’s bribe. Does this guy carry lucky Rapidash shoes or something? This guy’s luck is impeccable! Miss Lillith mentions something about ‘illicit activities’. Since when the hell is poking smot an ‘illicit activity’? Cannabis is a plant, that, when set fire to, has some effects, simple! Whatever, I’m glad that Miss Lillith is willing to let it slide for now, but I know we’ve gotta plan these sessions out better. I grab a notebook and a pen out of my bag, lay it on my desk and look toward the front of the class. As soon as my name comes up, I raise my hand and say "Here". Guess it's back to the grind...

I even feel bad for her. "Present." I raise my hand when Hyun calls my name. After that I start to take my things out of my backpack.

Class is starting, good. "Present." I sit comfortably, I also tried to eavesdrop in Matt's conversation a little, looks like I misunderstood it a little bit. There's more rivalry than love there. Damnit Matt,

I waited as the teacher called names, it was destiny that he would call mine soon, I know it! I sat up straight and used my phone as a mirror. Hair? Check. Makeup? Check. I was ready to let the whole room know of the fact that a hero stood in their midst. I hear my name and I jump up instantly. I give the best(and cutest) looking smile to the audience and wave my hand at them. Appearance was of utmost importance, a hero NEEDED to look good, and nice, if they ever wanted to get more allies or underlings.

"Bellona is present indeed, and would like you ALL to know that you look like great candidates for future minions!" I say the line in the most polite fashion, and take a bow to everybody, proud of my performance. I pause for a second, picturing all the people in this class rising up from their seats, applauding my performance would be enough, perhaps people shedding tears in light of this sheer brilliance, asking for autographs, for photos, for me just to pat their sorry little heads would not be out of the picture!


...But instead, all I got were a couple of weird sideways glances so I took my seat and sat there, internally frustrated, knowing that performance was worthy of an Oscar. But I would not fret, instead I would smile and just know, that in my heart, they just could not express their emotions in actions or words, and so they were left just utterly speechless. I look around, glad to now know that this class was full of people that understood true art, so many people had poured in that I could spot so many candidates for allies! There was even a comedian, some random boy who asked if I was taking all my pills, surely a jest, as I do not take any medication. I laughed at his inquiry, and waited for the teacher to continue roll call.

"Present." I responded as the teacher took roll call. It wasn't of utmost importance, but I did realize that he brought in a cart with him, but I now paid more attention to the pictures and windows, waiting for the day to pass.

Hyun

... I wait for a while for things to calm down. This girl... Oh well. I'm not going to ask, I saw worse and better, and I already worry about Alli, don't want to add too much spice in my life for now. What's more, I'm only here for a week.
Anyway, a few students are absent. This means. They are late.
"They have quite some nerve to be absent on the first day." I grin. "However. I'm not kind." I glance at the door. Aerie did her job well. It's now beautifully sealed with Ice. I can hear students knocking at it. I approach the door and speak loud enough for those behind to hear me. "It's no use. Late people have no place in my class. If you want to be a good trainer, have a good alarm clock."
I head back to my desk.
"As for you all, welcome to the Kobukan Academy! Even though I'm only here for the first week in this Homeroom, it doesn't mean we have to go with a bad start. After all, you'll probably see me around teaching something else. About that, I'm supposed to be the one in charge of the Music club. But I digress."
I clear my throat as I resume. "I don't think I need to make you a boring speech about Pokemons, you all know what they are, and we are not here for electives. Those first two hours will be a briefing about your success rate. No, I'm not talking about pokemon Capture, I'm talking about you succeeding this class. I 'm not here to give you bad grades and the next teacher wont be here for that. However you will need to study if you want to pass. It's not about only muscles or experience. Knowledge is power."
I can already hear them a little bit worried except some of them. "Let me see. Including the two who are probably behind that door sealed with Ice, you are 30. Judging by the last years success rate, 20 of you are stepping stones for the 10 who will succeed." People are already crying. "But It's not uncommon to see more people pass. Those were just stats anyway. Actions matter, and results comes from them! So study, train, and everything will be alright!"
I sigh. "And then I suppose many wants to pass through in order to either being a gym leader or part of an Elite Four? Or simply take on the League challenge?" I can hear some people that seems determined. "Well, Have fun with that. You will need to be above average, and even if you have guts, it wont be enough. Sometimes you might think that everything is perfect and suddenly you will fall down flat upon your face. Trust me."
I sigh. "Well, I'm sure some of you some questions if you didn't fall asleep during my speech. To be honest, they want us to keep you motivated, but by saying that the percentage of success is around ten percent... Well that's not the best way to show it, doesn't it? Also, Battle Team will probably helps you with your grades. Buuut I'm not the one in charge for it."
I look at the students. "So? Any questions?"
I see a student raise a hand. "Are all the teachers as strict as you? Because the Ice barricade seems kinda too much." I look at him and smirk. "I know Dren, the next one in charge of this class. Compared to him, I'm a teddiursa with a fridge. Also, for those who picked Ghost elective, be careful. The teach looks young, but try to not get angry at him. He can be scary. Any other questions? We kinda only have that left to do, so might as well clear things up. If not, I may or may not have a suprise test for you to kill the time."

This damn girl, Bellona. What is wrong with her? Does she want to rule the world or what?
I wouldn't be surprised if it were that, after all, everyone wants to rule the world.
I hear a freezing sound, and then the door to the class is frozen, with people still outside.
Serves them right. Still, back home they would be shot in the head for such a delay for the
rest of us. Then Hyun starts explaining. He's the music club teacher, they won't teach us basic stuff like what pokemon are, and that in this class he'll explain the success rates, which are 10%.
Meh, people must be stupid if that's the success rate of this academy. Either that, or the teaching is horrible. Questions now, eh? None.

I raise my hand when he asks for questions. "You said this class was to explain the success rates, but, what will the future classes consist of? Basic fighting, types, catching..."

"We'll just cover some basics about types. Electives will mostly be the hours if you want to learn more about them. As for catching, you have that in the gym hour. I'll be in charge of it. Basic fighting is too in gym class. Maybe we'll go a little bit over the stats, but this class is mostly here about tests, and studying about those. The subject may vary. Pokedex entries will often be at the subject, so make sure you will study them. Of course, difficulty will increase months after months. Anything else?"

So, they only expect for roughly a third of use to succeed then huh? I guess I'll have to put more effort into passing than I originally intended to do. I raise my hand and wait until Hyun signals for me to ask my question.

"Yeah I was curious what grade level the school expects us to keep in order to be eligible to participate in club and team events?" This should give me a rough idea of how much effort I'll actually need to put into my studies.
