As the pair of musicians leave I give Mr. Matt a look of intrigue. "You are wearing something under your shirt, is that correct?" I was not particularly looking for it, but when he leaned over the table I could see that it was not fitted quite right, but it did not appear to be an undershirt. After seeing the look on his face I reply "Ah, forgive me. I must have overstepped myself."

As we approach the door. I apologize to Mr. Glover. "I am terribly sorry for having you pay for me. I will pay you back if need be."



Lillith

"Heh, I think that maybe she's rubbed off on you." I sort through the file for Sefi. "Attractive huh, I just don't see it."

Well, let's do this. Sierra is up first. Hmm, she has some broken shaft feathers. I slowly look over at Sefi. Actually, this probably wasn't her fault, if I recall correctly she was looking for Alli, and she gets wacky when she flies into storms. I let out a soft sigh and remove the broken feathers. Otherwise she is fine.

Next up is Naya. I check her wings and tail. I examine her mask and test her posture. I would say that steel is the type I am least comfortable with. But she's doing fine. I scribble down some notes and move on.

Next we have, Rheese. Heh, if I recall correctly, this big guy is her security blanket. I believe Alli told me that when she was storm-high one time. I wonder if Sefi keeps it a secret then. He has some, interesting shall we say, injuries. Otherwise he looks fine. I write down my notes.

Let's see; Nicklas. Mm, another steel. I clang a rod against him and listen to the resonance. I don't see any signs of rust, the organic material is a good shade of green. Yep he looks like he's doing well. I finish my notes on him.

Now we have Hank. I look along his claws. No signs of wear or rust or damage. None on the nose either. He looks less than pleased about soaked earth though. A little antsy even. I right some notes.

Finally we've got Molly. Skarmory are always fun. The wing blades are looking fine. I take a jeweler's hammer and lightly tap along the back. That seems fine as well. I finish up writing.

"So, everyone seems fine. I would say that Hank wants to get some digging done. Let's get to the major issue here. How did Sierra break so many shaft feathers?" I peer at her face. "I'm betting Alli had something to do with it."

Matthew

I blush a little as Lenyth mentions seeing my wrap under my shirt. I'm guessing the expression I gave wasn't very pleasant either from her immediate apology and dropping of the subject.

"Thanks, but you didn't need to pay for my food ya' know?" I say to Glover as we head out.

On the way back to town I start to feel bad for coming off as bad towards Lenyth when she asked about my wrap, so I walk up near her and say quietly "Hey, sorry about early, I just got injured during my morning sparring and don't want anyone to worry about it. So keep it a secret okay?"

Page & Glover (Glover's POV)

Page makes an L with his hand against his forehead. How childish. "It's no problem. It's a gentlemen's bet and I had to respect it - 'Strings' and I do this all the time. And please Len, just call me Glover." I smile, amused by how polite she is. Glad there's still girls like Len that can carry and respect herself the way most girls can't anymore. I think back to my days back home. Girls just always seemed to find a way to disrespect you, and it's not like they still don't... but to meet a girl like Len, well, it's refreshing, in a sense. I study her face for a bit... gah, it's useless. I just smile and rub the back of my head awkwardly, while Page is still holding the door. Matt mentions that I didn't need to spot him for lunch as he and Len go on ahead. I look at Page and he just throws his head up in acknowledgement. "Sup? What's on your mind?"

I just smile and chuckle. "You're treating us to lunch next time" I tell him. We step out into the sidewalk and he lets the door go. He laughs in response. "I mean, I guess so. How does pizza and pasta sound?" I nod in agreement. "Sounds good to me." Eventually we're all ready to go and we start our walk back towards the academy. Matt and Len are talking to each other up ahead. Before I can even think for a second, Page nudges me on the elbow. "Hello? Earth to Glover?"

"Huh?" I snap out of daydreaming for a second and regain my focus. Page is just looking at me like he knows I ate something in the fridge that was clearly his. "I was asking you what electives you're taking."

"Oh, Fire and Ground. What about you?" He lets out a yawn. "Grass and Psychic. Trippy, ain't it?"

"Yeah, no kidding, man." Makes sense, considering how zen Page is. We eventually reach the crosswalk and wait for the light to turn green. Len and Matt are having their own conversation at this point, but I tune it out. It's rude to eavesdrop, after all. I decide to bring up something a bit personal. "So, what happened with Charlotte?"

Page just sighs. "Oh you know. This and that." He seems a bit pensive about the subject. "Like, we'd spent hours on the phone just wondering how the hell we'd make it work, you know? But there was a point in time where we had to just draw the line." The signal turns green. As we all cross, Page mentions, "Nothing good lasts forever, y'know? But ya gotta learn how to carry on, I guess."

I understand what he means. He's always been this way. Things just seem to happen to him, but he doesn't like letting it affect him. He just likes going with the flow, and when he does, it's when I see Page at his best. "Guess I gotta start over from the ground up, and you know what, I don't mind" Page says, like he's accepting his fate. He looks up at the academy gate. "And this... this is where I start over." He pushes the gate open. The times have really changed this spacey Castelia City kid, that's for sure.

Mr. Glover told me to drop the honorific, I shall try I suppose. And then Mr. Matt told me of his morning spar and resulting injury. "I am sorry, I should not have brought it up." I upbraid myself. I do not know anything of martial craft, and it would be wrong to interject. I close my eyes and let out a sigh, I do not think my fever has worsened. The other two, are talking of a girl now. A past inamorata it would seem, although the tone appears quite atrabilious.

Ah the gates, I am thankful. All this activity has made me feel somewhat lightheaded.

As I approach the door to Lillith's office, my head suddenly hurts. Looks like my lack of sleep is slowly showing up. I lean back on the wall as my pokemons are gathering around me. They all look worried. "Heh. I wont fall that easily, no need to worry about that." But even I know that it's not that small. I close my eyes, waiting for the dizziness to end. I definitely need to find a way to recov- huh? I can't feel my legs anymore... I can... feel myself... falli-

As I was done with all the other things, some hour(s?) had passed since the breakfast moment. I had been thinking a little bit about it, since it was a bit weird so to say, nothing too extraordinary however. Bagon has been making some hefty progress. Also, I'm pretty sure Bagon was quite close to evolving. Wasn't looking forward to that exactly, but oh well. Shelgon would be but a stage, not the final evolution. Would just be very different having a Shelgon around as compared to a Bagon. I hadn't much experience handling Shelgons either, although I was very experienced in the evolution lines of Dratini, Trapinch and Bagon's, except for Shelgon.

Anyhow, it wasn't such a big deal like I was making of it right now in my thoughts. Uhh, what next...
Oh, right. Should go get the sign-ups done for clubs and electives. That shall be the next thing for me to do. I tidied myself up a little bit, brushed my hair, changed clothes and all.
As I was done with that, I headed out of my room once again. Hadn't seen Blake around for a little bit, but I think I'll be seeing her any time now, I thought to myself as I was walking the hallways of Pledge. Quiet as always, I sighed. Half in relief and comfort, half so that I wished that more would happen here.

After playing around in the rain for quite a while, I was pretty damn drenched as I entered my room. Nothing a few towels and fresh, dry clothes couldn't fix though. As I rummaged the stack of clothes I had packed with me, I really did come to the realization that my clothing was pretty bland. Mostly black, grey and white colors, hardly anything different. Not that I cared much, and it did fit me. I was bland as can be, after all. Either way, I still managed to look pretty decent if you ask me, pretty well groomed. Even had received some compliments about my facial aesthetics and bodily proportions a few times. Well, my hair wasn't that groomed since it was a pretty emo-ish style. Wasn't an emo, just preferred to have a medium to long length hair, and mine was like this naturally. Although from what I had heard, it's always just the ''cold'' eyes or my ''ruthless, ''non-empathic'' expression, my lifestyle and who I am who really keeps people scared off. At least that's what some of the girls I had confessed to in my earlier days said. My head hurts so I have to hold it as I track back in my memory to those days. Fuck. Can't stop these rather hurtful images popping up in my head. I shake my head and clench my fist, nearly punching the wall just to get back into the moment. Good thing that Page didn't storm through the door, didn't want to involve him to any of my worries. If I did, people usually tried to pity me. That's what I hated the most of all.

I soon had my mind cleared, and I cleaned my side of the room for a little bit. After that I hopped on the bed, let Haunter out and fired up my PSP to play some games, would chill for a while before I'd have to go to the sign-ups. They'd be crowded or at least starting to get crowded around this time either way, so I wouldn't want to be there right now.

Before I left my office, I browsed through the files of many of the new students, mostly the ones I'd be teaching. An interesting bunch, is the least I could say. I was looking forward to the school year beginning. Currently, I was walking to the office where the sign-ups took place. I was pretty much on time, actually.

"There's no need to apologize, I'm pretty used to getting injuries at this point." I respond to Lenyth, more ashamed at the fact I get injured during my training than proud. Page and Glover seem to be talking about their past, but all I manage to over hear is Page saying something about starting over when we reach the Academy. I didn't catch most of what he was saying, mainly because I wasn't trying to, but it sounded similar to the speech I got from my mum when she sent me hear.

I bid farewell to everyone as we got back to the Academy before returning to my room to change into some training clothes. After getting changed I headed towards the main building to get sign-ups out of the way.

For some reason Lenyth’s a bit awkward in returning the handshake but I don’t really pay it any mind. She seems a bit out of it so when she asks for some rest I leave the room with Ulna “Okay, I’ll talk to you some other time”

We didn’t get much work done last night thanks to Ulna’s attack on Leo so I grab a whole bunch of fruit from the canteen and head straight out into the rain. At least the rain should stop us from getting too hot. After some brief stretching, which Ulna thankfully joined in with obediently, we head out for a jog around the campus. Since all the fruit I brought along will be our reward for hard work, Ulna puts his full effort into our training for the sake of his stomach. Speaking of training, I think I’ll focus on his speed today, jumping can be saved for another day.

After a few hours of work, interrupted with well deserved food breaks, I come to a rest and remember that I was meant to sign up for clubs and electives today. I daydreamed a little too much while running and became a bit oblivious to everyone and everything around me, including all the stuff I needed to do before classes started. Ulna hops onto my head as I depart for the showers before heading to sign ups. Hmm, his cape got really dirty from training. Maybe it should be saved for just special occasions.

----
Me and Zangoose finish eating, we get rid of the plates and come back to my room. I lay down in bed and he sits next to me, waiting for me to say something. It's been a really... Boring day. Even tho I don't exactly enjoy it, we could go training.
"Hey Zangoose, you up for some running?" His eyes suddenly lighten up, he seems happy.
"Then let's not waste any more time." I open the door and Zangoose speeds by, going directly to the exit of the hall. Once we're outside we go to the running track, maybe I should have brought some sport clothes, but then again, it's still raining and I don't want to catch a cold. Zangoose starts running right away, he doesn't seem to care about the rain, in the other hand, I take it easy, starting slow and building up.

Page & Glover (Page's POV)

As we reach the gates, I snap out of my daydream state and bid everyone farewell. "I'll catch you later, Glover. Let's do something when the rain clears up."

Glover just shrugs. "You have my number, so just hit me up. I'll be in my dorm, sleeping. Try to stay outta trouble Strings." I nod in acknowledgement. "You too, hopefully that broad from earlier won't find a reason to kill you or something."

"What makes you say that?" Glover asks, confused. "I get the feeling she might have a screw or two loose. You know, one of those cuckoo ones." I cross my eyes and make a gesture with my finger, rotating it next to my head. Glover laughs. "Yeah, for sure. See ya, man." I wave as I watch my friend walk away. Now it's just Len and I at the gate, and I notice she's looking a bit exasperated, prompting me to speak up. I tap her on the shoulder gingerly. "Len? You feeling okay?"
