And a few other things after reading the thread again:

The battle team being mandatory is, as I read it, a plot thing in the VN. Red will join the battle team because he is Red. Our characters, however, are not. Sefi, for instance, would love to battle, but has next to no experience, and wouldn't be able to meet the requirements.

I won't be taking any NPCs just now. While I am used to RPing, this has so far only been IRL, and I'm not the fastest writer out there. It'll probably be a while before even try to make second character.

And there's a few more Europeans in here than I immediately thought. I'm in Denmark myself.

Same here. I noticed that Thantos and Exo and a few others haven't written in quite a while either, wonder what's up with them. Probably on holidays?

So I think I'll take Blaine, Lt. Surge unless someone else wants either of them (which I'll be fine with). I assume teachers will be roleplayed in 3rd person.

Also, I figured my 2nd character will be the stundet council president and he'll be holding the orientation I suppose.

Those were actually the ones I was leaning towards, but I can figure out some others. As far as characters being young for professors though I don't think that should matter to much, I mean Pokemon has never really cared about people actually aging, as well as in the game the all the professors I've seen so far seem like they've been at the school for awhile. Maybe have the younger professors played as though this is their first or second year teaching at this academy?
