It looked like you were able to control Leaf's Bulbasaur, which seems a bit weird to me. I welcome the addition of double battles though. In a game about developing relationships among characters it makes a lot of sense, so I hope to see used to enhance immersion in that regard
Yeah, from my point of view, I would hate
to see myself lose a battle just because Leaf picked a poor move. I'm developing the AI, and while I'd love to say I'm an expert, computers can still do wonky things if the conditions are right. I kind of justify it as "gotta use teamwork in a double battle" so communication between Red and Leaf is a big point.
Another way to think of it; you're not controlling Red, then Leaf. You're controlling both simultaneously as a single unit.
It's also nice to see Bubble actually working.
I'm just glad no one will be asking me why Bubble doesn't work, I don't think people got the memo that I joined the team AFTER 1.0.3 released, and that I completely overhauled the battle system from top to bottom.
