As someone who has spent FAR too much time breeding for competitive Pokémon, I absolutely agree on randomness. If someone wanted a a specific mon as a gift, a 1 in 6 chance could force them to keep resetting for several minutes at least. Just giving them the choice would save a lot of unneeded hassle. Of course, when it comes to finding wild Pokémon, having an element of chance would actually make more sense.

I am now curious about something. During the various AMAA + The interview, I remember that there was something like we'll get at least one pokemon from the Type Electives we chose.

As a lover of Ice/Ghost type, I did pick both of them. Does that mean I would be able to have a Froslass? Or there is no "combo" Type? (Like for Ground/Fire = Chance to have a Numel)

Metang is the Best Ground type Jae.

Thanks for participating in the survey (those who did). We got 300 responses fairly quickly and that seems to be a good number to stop at.

I understand the reason's for not releasing it, but will the data be available? It'd be kind of interesting to see the spread of response.

That's what I get for being a perfectionist and literally going through all the type pages on Bulbapedia I guess. Oh, well. At least the votes look reasonable. I only lack Galvantula, Rotom, Breloom and Empoleon.
And Articuno, of course. Not that expected it show up.
