I feel like you guys might not understand how much work must go into this game to make it a success. There's character routes, possible mini story, then the 3 WHOLE YEARS OF MAIN STORY X4 CAUSE OF DIFFERENT ROOMMATE OPTIONS. Literally 90% of the content would have to be legitimately changed if you played a female or if you could date the opposite sex. There's so much crap that would need to be done that it's legitimately pointless. Dating isn't the main point of the game, main story is, but lots would have to change, like how you act in certain situations, and certain hangout scenes would have to change because some things only work well for guys (This is honesty as a writer, not sexist.). Being LGBTQ+ is fine and all, but if you want this game to be out before 2020, Winter 2014, before you die, or before its DMCA'd (Because I can ASSURE you that Nintendo knows of this project.), then at this point the idea should be given up upon, because it will never happen.

Case closed.

Ok everyone, if we can all agree to not put in LGBTQ+ into the game, we can have the game out by winter 2014. But if even one more person replies to this thread requesting LGBTQ+ content, then the game won't come out for several years. I, Trainer Yellow, will guarantee that the dev team will adhere to these terms.

Winter 2014 is a reference to how Persona 5 was originally supposed to come out then, but was delayed repeatedly.

FFS.

To be honest adding content outside of the writer concept could prove counter productive. Specially since early conception of red, He already linked to several set of characteristic and LGBT is not one of them. Should they forcefully add such a trait i am more afraid that the impact is not only to the release date but also the inconsistency of red personality which could leave a negative impact and weak story.

I said if dev intend red to be straight, then leave him straight

It is possible to add LGBT elements without changing Red's character, & with minimal impact, the most obvious one & the one that actually seems to fit very well with what I can see of the story so far being Blue being gay/bi & being/becoming interested in Red, that would have the potential to open up options to react to an advance by Blue towards the end of the game instead of it being a full path, in theory with minimal to no effect on the rest of the story, but perhaps adding a little more depth to the story and a challenging set of options to consider, without creating inconsistency, you could maybe choose an option that treats Blue badly, one that is understanding but clearly uninterested, maybe one that leaves possibilities open, ect.

Well, that settles it. The game won't come out in winter 2014. Everyone please thank Joe for being personally responsible for this.

Oh wow this got derailed faster than... well, something that gets derailed quickly. Like my train of thought? Anyhow.

The OP question was about Gay/Bi routes being available; which, as we have discussed, would not fit Red's character. Anything any NPC does/doesn't do is pretty well irrelevant for the sake of this topic. Jasmine could being dating Karen behind the scenes but what bearing does that have on Red? At the end of the day, the story is about him.
